The players didn’t know what to do. Can’t keep the ball and pass, no patterns or rhythm.

Either they don’t understand what they’re suppose to be doing or they are implementing a very poor system.
They aren’t a great squad but the consistency in errors suggests it’s the later unfortunately

I rarely call for sackings but Arteta should realistically be out of a job. I'm not crazy about what's on the market but I think we could perhaps do better. The worst thing is he had decent personnel out there but the structure of the midfield as well as the attack just didn't work, and we were so slow and ponderous in possession. Surely the players have to take a huge part of the blame, but Arteta is ultimately the one responsible here. The subs only exacerbated his tactical failing tonight. Very poor.

When Arteta was asked why he played with a false 9 and no striker in the first leg he replied that he played with 3 strikers in other games and we still didn't score. He probably had similar thought when he took Auba off.
