Remember when people where judging him because of some stupid pre-season skillz challenge in America? We've come a long way.
This place was honestly absolutely shocking in pre-season and early season.

It’s all well and good people admitting he’s actually good now, but the level of animosity and craving for him to fail as arsenal fans will always be extremely cringe to me. Most people who do that are just going to turn on the next player they decide to put in their crosshairs. Fans are so fickle.

Whether he turned out good or not, people who were basically begging for him to fail from day one just cos they didn’t like the signing are and will always be agenda merchants.

Those names... Basically won't show up here when Kai has a good game.

They have been so eager to say "I told you so".

There are agendas on both sides.

The reality is this:

He stunk 1st half of the season. Yet, he was given praise.

High wage and poor play. It was bad. He got benched by Arteta by the Everton game. So bad, they gave him a penalty kick just to help his scoring drought against Bournemouth.

He has played well 2nd half of the season.

What a difference of playing your natural position makes.

Now he is getting praise. Praise he has earned.

That is the gist of it.

He is not good enough as a starting striker to close the gap with City. He was a total disaster first half of year. He has been ok second half of year. 12 league goals or even one or two more in last 3 matches is still not a good enough for a league winning striker. We need a striker; Jesus can stay and play winger and 3rd choice striker. But we need a top finisher. We still need 3 to 4 new players a couple of starters and a couple of good bench players to round this team into a trophy winning destroyer

Where is this gap with City?

Led the league most of year last year and then we bottled.

This year, head-to-head 3 matches, we are the only one that got a victory. Not City.

If anything, City beats the teams they should. We've had a game or two where we we'd like to have back. That is the difference. Maybe that is where the need for a striker could have been useful.

However, those games against West Ham, Fulham, etc. Kai wasn't playing CF. Mik was still galaxy braining trying to make Kai a midfielder.

Probably not but i still don’t think he is good enough to be starting striker atArsenal. If Giroud, Auba, orRvp put up these numbers no one would be how great our striker is. He has improved, had his best season in England; still not good enough as a starting striker if we are serious about winning the big trophies.

He has 9 starts up front in the league with 7 goals and 5 assists. Granted it's a small sample size but that's elite. There must be huge temptation to see what he does there over a full season.

The gap is at striker and depth. They going to probably pull the double despite missing kdb almost their whole season. If Ødegaard missed half the season we would be done. City loses a starting CB no one notices. We lose one and all of sudden we drop off a cliff. We have 5 guys that we were lucky that they were healthy all year mostly. If Rice,Ode, Saliba, Saka, or Gabriel don’t play we are a Europa team

Time will tell, can see him getting 15+ next season.

I think he will be starting striker next season mostly because there isn’t a clear cut transfer out there that will improve us without breaking the bank. So most likely we will see the experiment you crave; he will miss too many big chances like he did this year. He was better than Jesus and Eddie this year but that is a low hurdle

Arsenal Quotes

This is a big moment of happiness...we waited a long time for this and the happiness is linked sometimes with the suffering, and the time that you have to wait....this was more important than all the other (trophies) we have twice won the double, but were not under pressure then like we were today.
