His record against the biggest teams in the league this season is genuinely incredible. 5 wins and 4 draws, 0 defeats.

At this point it's hard to point out anything wrong. Maybe the European record but you had a decent showing this season albeit it could/maybe should have been better but you're also a team full of fairly inexperienced players in terms of continental football. I still respect the people who dislike the football and maybe don't like his attitude etc but his body of work is getting better and better, especially considering how little time he's been in the role, and you can see how the criticism on here has gotten less and less intense.
What is missing is what is missing.
Only Pep, Klopp, Ancelotti are more experienced.
Simeoni is going down, Mourinho is outdated.
Who can we hire?
We are not going back to Emery.

Arteta is the only and best choice to proceed with this process.

Yes, he does things that are frustrating, but you'll notice he is the only first-time manager on that list. He's doing a good job all things considered. You really can't fluke this.

That's seriously impressive considering how we looked when he took over, he's doing an incredible job. Made us into genuine title challengers something I didn't think he'd be able to do at all and you still feel we can get better. We've been the best team in the league this season(and I'm sure the underlying numbers back that up), hopefully we'll have the pl trophy to show for it at the end

What's the most amazing is we were dire in the first 1.5 season he was in charge.

I don't know, man.

We've played well enough to win the league this year.

Yeah, he is risk aversive to a degree ,but outside of maybe the City away game, don't really see it.

Chelsea away we stunk it up and Trossard bailed us out.

Liverpool away, no.

Sp**s away, 3-0 at halftime. No.

Bayern we got outclassed all together. European football is still a work in progress for Arteta.

What is it like to clutch at straws like this? Did you prefer Emeryball and late Wengerball when we were about 70% likely to play "brave" open football and get our sh*t kicked in in every away match to a big team? How many points were those teams putting up compared to this one? Was Carlo playing risky football today or did he set a team out there to not lose the game? The blueprint for winning titles has never been playing risky football away from home. It's always been to win the home fixture and not lose the away fixture and that goes for 99% of managers in the history of the sport. Playing more conservatively away to opposition of a similar level to you is something everyone does including, wait for it....Pep Guardiola at the Emirates this season. You would rather be right about the manager and players you dislike than admit they're doing a good job. It's pitiful.

Our old form cost us games this season.

Since Salt Bae, our team has looked different and the rotation of players are different.

Our old form went away with the old guard as the focal point of this team (Eddie, Jesus, Zinny, Martinelli, Havertz in midfield).

Our current group of players and playing form would beat Fulham both times. Would beat West Ham at the Emirates.

We had to lose those games though, to learn and grow into the team we are now.

Look at the Liverpool - City match at Anfield. Or Chelsea's draw at the Etihad.

Turns up only when we lose
St James Park, we could have been at that stadium for hours and we still wouldn't have created big chance, let alone score a goal.

Whereas Villa Park we were better than Villa but not clinical enough.

Stamford Bridge we were horrific for 70 minutes of the game.

Anfield and Etihad, we could have been more braver. Set piece goal aside at Anfield, I don't remember us doing anything else afterwards and Etihad we were cowards, they had no Walker/Stones and Ake got injured.

European away games, Arteta still doesn't understand European tempo, whether Europa league/UCL Porto away (0 shots on target), Allianz (handbrake on, de ligt/dier unfazed, no chances created) in our recent knockout games.

Our team is not equipped for European football as it stands, we're lacking so many profiles to make us competitive in big away games, no pacey outlet, no transition threat, no traditional fullbacks who can defend/attack (inversion does not work), clinical bagsman, no moments/individual brilliance player other than Jesus who has dodgy knees and is erratic and perhaps Saka on his day, etc.. Havertz in Midfield, our so called 'world class' CB's became bozos in the knockout ucl games, look at Saliba vs Porto h/A and Bayern (H) and look at Gabriel in Bayern H/A game and still question marks on our GK situation.

Yes, this UCL campaign was a disappointment.

I wonder what approach Arteta will take next season in big away games in the league and in Europe regarding recruitment.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsenal have always been the club of the people, the streets. Arsenal was one of the first clubs to really have black players, so it did represent the mass of the UK and how London is. I hope people at the club know that and who are they playing for.
