Too much acting hard and running up and down for Tierney, softest hard man around.

The thing is that Pep came up through managment of the youth academy and was given the chance with an exceptional squad that was good enough for anyone to take over. Like you said, the decision was crazy, it was obvious that we needed an experienced head to steady the ship. Now more than ever.
Yes Potter coming in right now would be throwing him in at the deep end with weights tied to his ankles, he'd need a miracle managing us.
It‘s always tough to replace a legend, and we’ve tried to shortcut the process. I felt like the club didn’t give Unai Emery enough support to succeed. Mikel might very well come good at some point, but it’s tough to see him doing it with us in this current situation. People talk about Ole, but he was coming in off the back of Van Gaal, Moyes and Mourinho, two of which were global heavyweights ( with all due respect to Moyes who is a fantastic manager in his own right).
Tough situation, and I have no doubt Conte or any other manager with that level of reputation would do well here, but there’s clearly something wrong at a higher level that has to be sorted first to provide that platform a top manager needs. This isn’t the same situation as Chelsea who had experienced some success with Mourinho And had a more than decent squad that Tuchel could enhance. We’re that far away, evidenced by the number of players we can’t even shift.
