Steed Malbranque is an excellent player imo. Whenever I see Fulham play he always appears to play well and score goals. I think he is defintely the most underated player in the Premiership.

He has the ability to do well for a top 4 club me thinks.

I was thinking of starting the thread but I'll just join this party now.

I think he could be a great addition to the squad. His contract is going to expire really soon and could get him cheaper.

Still realtively young enough at 26.

Can score goals as well (although not that much last season).

So why not? No need to compare him with Hleb. It wouldn't hurt to have someone like him in the squad especially with Pires not getting any younger (also might leave the squad) and Ljungberg nowhere near his best last season.

What if Hleb or Ljungerg or both of them are injured? Our left back spot was cursed last season. What if the wingers are cursed the next season? It really wouldn't hurt to have strenght in depth. The more the merrier for me, IMO.

I agree!

Malbranque is a really good player. I think he's a bit underrated, but only because he plays for Fulham. He has the quality to succeed at Arsenal, Liverpool or any of the top teams. He seems like a versatile player which is good- could play on the right wing or the left wing.

Getting him would be a very good idea..

Well I'd defintely prefer him over Ljungberg who has only scored 1 Premiership goal, and has generally been pretty crap this season!

Just because a player plays for a crap club doesn't mean he is crap.

cant believe someone said steed's better than hleb, just wow.

lol he is. Hlebs final product is **** tbh. Steed is the better player you just know when he has the ball that he will create something. While Hleb well i never have that feeling.

Dont get me wrong i rate Hleb but he needs to improve very much.

LOL, JOKER strikes again, Batman where arrre you? you've got some explaining to do

You want me to break it down for you?

Steed is stronger

Faster

Better at shooting

Better at passing

Scores more goals

Makes more assist

better at crossing

A deadball specialist

Proven in the hardest league in the world

All in all Steed has better physical attributes then Hleb and he has a much better final product.

He performs in a small team imagine him at a bigger club?

TBH most of you are being bias Hleb is a good player but his end product is just awful and i mean awful. His passing is woeful at times and he holds on to the ball alot which slows down play. His dribbling is fantastic though but thats about the best ability he has.

Right now Steed is the better player. Hleb should improve next season and i can see him getting better in the future but now its Steed with out a doubt.

Dont know whats so shocking for most of you.

Why compare him to Hleb? IMO Steed is more than a capable replacement for Pires and Freddie. Pires gives you one thing now thats goals nothing else. Freddie has shown against Real and Fulham he has quality, but IMO its in a more free attacking role rather than from the flank. However we need goals and steed can move our game forward as he has the ability to play wide yet the intelligence to move central giving a goal threat and creating with his passing. He also works hard and is always looking for the ball.

2 years ago he was talked about in the same breadth as SWP when he was at city. For fans on here to say he is not good enough for us I for one disagree and feel he is better than both Freddie and Pires.

True words.

I would actually like him to be here. He is a quality player and he is better than Pires and Ljungberg. He scores goals, creates goals and he could be a good, cheap option. I think we could get him for £6 million or something. He is also only 26 years old, which is quite young. He is pacey, has good vision, passes well, good finisher and works hard.
