League is poorer than ever, that's not a surprise

Really hope things improve, 2 sides out of the CL is a fair punishment for the pathetic 2022-23 season the PL offered.

It’s the best PL that it’s ever been and any other view is pure nostalgia.

20 years ago it was the 3rd biggest league in Europe and a minnow like Ipswich could get promoted and challenge for a title straight away.

The league didn’t somehow get worse (at least in terms of play quality) when it became the richest in the world with multiple state-owned teams.

Its tougher for sure. The modern teams would destroy the ones of the past. The modern game is also a lot more boring.

Its like Carlsen would face Morphy or Tal. No contest.

Those who live today always benefit from learning from those who lived yesterday.

The league overall has poorer quality compared to years ago but it is much tougher to win the league now though (Need 90+ points mostly)

I agree, there is something to be said of the noticeable reduction of individual stars, but winning the league is pretty much a joke now. 4 losses and your title run could be over which is ridiculous.

Feels like all the jeopardy of the top 4 race is gone because the prem will probably get a 5th place spot for it. Couldn't even fully celebrate a Sp**s hatewatch yesterday. Football's getting wack.
