gael clichy's previous club are now in the third division
i dont know what division they were in when we signed him though, so just because zubar comes from a lower division shouldnt put us off

Don't watch that far down.

Things are barely intresting in ligue 1.

Exactly, Walcott came from the Championship. Obviously I know nothing about this chap but at this stage any defender would be a plus.

We are not getting him, AW already said he is done for this transfer window.

If he is still available in the summer which I doubt then maybe.

Seems destined for Lyon. They are in serious need of defenders.

Their injury crisis is very similar to ours :

Their 2 left back are injured, one for long term
Their right back back-up is out at the african nations cup
Their older centre back is injured and injury/error prone
Plus their right back starter is injured

Their CB back up is not good enough IMO (monsoreau), their 3rd choice rb is unexperienced (clerc) and they'll have to play malouda at left back!!

Back to the topic, zubar is reportedly very close to signing for lyon.

At least we're being linked with a defender this time...though I still won't put much stock in it.

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
