Yeh I changed my post slightly when I realised it said they want to add the sell on clause, so there is still a chance it doesn’t happen. The fact that they are even asking for that is annoying me though. May as well ask for a buy back clause while they’re at it.

Don't see the issue personally.

It's normal teams asking for 10-15% sell on clause specially for young players. Good news for us they didn't ask for 25%😂

Covid isn’t really affecting the market though. People keep bringing it up but transfer fees in general are relatively high. The fee is lower than what Tielemans went for at a similar age. Other players with a similar profile have also gone for more.
I guess it depends on the team. Lille are tryna sell cheap, Leipzig with Sabitzer. But I just don’t get why a sell on is even being mentioned. Rarely happens in these deals to big clubs.

That’s still money that a lot of big clubs usually don’t sign up to when signing players.

What top team in this country have bought a player with a sell on clause?

Pretty sure Zaha and Depay both had sell on clauses. Thing is your City/United/Chelsea's don't tend to buy young players like Leicester do and like we are doing now. They pay huge money therefore don't need a sell on clause.

If we have to go up a few million in price to have any sell-on dropped, I wouldn't mind, even 20m (Euros), maybe juiced up with different types of add-ons. This will be an early glimpse into the negotiation skills of Garlick.

Edu’s is poor. Kinda rubbish deal if true and we add that 15% sell on clause. He’s not really coming cheap considering he’s from a small club + it’s covid. Could be up to 21.5m euros AND they want a 15% sell on clause ? He’s not Haaland what is this. I’ll take the deal without the clause.
Was thinking the same. Sell on clause on a good fee from the Belgian league? Hope we tell them to do one, we will get bent over by every club we deal with after that.

If this is true, damn. Verbeke is a master negotiator. He is also offloading all the dead wood of the squad like crazy. . Edu inexpercience is also a factor in this, but still.

Tielemans left RSCA as a better player to Monaco though.

Arsenal Quotes

One of the things I discovered in Japan was from watching sumo wrestling. At the end you can never tell who has won the fight, and who has lost, because they do not show their emotion because it could embarrass the loser. It is unbelievable. That is why I try to teach my team politeness. It is only here in England that everybody pokes their tongue out when they win.
