From a fan’s perspective I would think so. Can totally understand if the club thinks otherwise.

One small relapse and Toney is out for the best years of his career. A club would have to be crazy to spend 70+ million on him.

Realistically only Chelsea are that stupid.

Also whilst he’s no doubt a good player he seems seriously overrated to me, thats before you even take the gambling into account. Surely there are better options?

I’d take Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest as a stop gap til the better option presents itself. Wouldn’t have to break the bank, 26 years old, looks good in the Prem etc
