More steel needed, more creativity needed and more, much more leadership. Henry just doesn't come across as leadership potential.

Too much is made of Viera's departure in terms of his playing capability however as a captain he led from the front. Striker captains are doomed to failure and should rarely be contemplated. Arsenal need a driving force midfielder who can be groomed as the captain sooner rather than later. Unfortunately now Henry has been appointed any move to replace him will be deemed a snub.

The sad fact is Arsenal have few natural leaders in the side at present.

Senderos= POOR
Henry=Poor
Pires=POor

I weas so angry on Henry this match.. he dident do a thing, had like 2 passes, 2 shots and only managed to drible ONE chelsea player in the entire match!!
Why the **** wasen't Reyes playing for Arsenal? He was not even on the bench!!
We really must play Reyes instead of Pires next match, Pires is not good anymore!!

Hleb was pretty impressing, showed good technique, nice vision and that he dont nedd long time to get used to the harsh Premier League!!

Senderos is playing pizz know, can't wait to get Sol back!!

Otherwise I think we even with Chelsea, it was a boring game with two boring teams on the pitch!!

Wenger.........start whit Reyes next match!!

Thierry acting as Captain takes up too much of his time. I hope he drops the armband so that he can focus on the thing he does best.

Our plot was lost from the time the lineup was announced... since when did Wenger decide we were to go to Chelsea to play for a draw?
What happened to 2 strikers up front?
Henry up front on his own just does not work.. we saw this kind of thing fail miserably in the Cup final... why would Wenger try to do it again?

And.. 80 mins gone..we need a goal and Wenger puts Flamini in the game.. what on earth was he thinking? Bergkamp was on the bench.. i cannot understand the idea behind this at all.

The amount of unqualified bollocks-comments is immense after this game.

I hope you comment wasn't aimed at everyone but if mine is not agreeably, then feel free to constructively criticize my previous singular post.

I respects your opinions Sammer. No hard feelings and all that but...

Unless your qualified how can you disqualify others opinions? Unless of course you just want to post your opinion and then everyone can agree with it.

i think if ljungerberg continued to play... the score might have been different because him and lauren were linked up good and played good..

Exactly my thoughts aswell with Fredie on the pitch Arsenal has a player who runs and opens up opportunities, let´s hope he isn´t seriously injured cause then we´re in trouble.

I am just back from the Bridge. Quite angry, and feel my comments would lead to a banning maybe... it's alot, LOT worse when you are there. Nearly all kicked off outside too.

Very lucky.

Jon did you see those guys getting escorted back to the train station by police escort?

I came out the ground just after they were being sectioned off, not sure what happened but there was a big group of lads (which I am assuming were Gooners as it was by the exit to the shed end) being marched off by the old bill!

I was actually tempted to sneak onto the back of them so I could get an easy ride to my train!!

To clarify, lee.

I am sick and tired of the usual whining aka "we need to spend big", "let´s sell Pires and Ljungberg", "Our worst performance for years"....blablabla.

To comfort you, no, it was not aimed at all posts, but at the usual whining that takes place after a defeat. And since you are interested, in particular not at your post.

Jeez, we didn´t play great today, neither did Chelsea. It was luck today to decide the game. Anybody remember any lucky moments we had in our unbeaten run? ManU missing a penalty e.g.?

Sure, there are plenty of things to critisize - e.g. our lack of just going straight for a goal, instead of looking for the perfect touch and passing it around 100 times.

And one more thing: I don´t believe that buying Baptista - or any other player - would have changed things dramatically today. It might have just been the same result with their f*cking luck.

On the positive side - Hleb looks brilliant. I have seen a lot of him in the Bundesliga, but was a bit cautious, if he can continue his class in the EPL. And the answer is: YES. He did everything right today, not only creating our only chances, but also tracking back, working hard and being able to deal with three opponents at once (my favourite momen of todays game).

It almost seemd, as he, next to Toure and Lehmann, was the only one ready to be back in EPL action.

Funny enough..todays game reminded me a lot of our failed CL games. No attacking threat whatsoever..teams getting behind the ball and watching us pass it left to right in front of their box.

Bang, bang, ****ing bang. Nail on the head.

I can't read any more of this topic, because so much of it is utter rubbish. We were bad defensively? We were EXCELLENT defensively today. Kolo Toure was fantastic, he was fantastic last week as well. There was absolutely nothing wrong with our defence, Chelsea did not look like scoring at any point.

To return to Ljungberg, everyone talking about how we lack a fox in the box player seems to forget that Freddie plays this role for us, he runs in behind teams and gets on the end of crosses. He may defend as a right winger would, but really he is no right winger at all. Without him, I agree we need a player in there (Owen would be ideal imo) but with him, there's really no need.

One thing we did really lack today was width on the left - whenever Cole got forward he seemed to do it in line with the edge of the box rather than hugging the touchline. And Ralph seemed to stay at home most of the time on the half-way line.

I was at the game today, sitting amongst the Chelsea fans (terrible, I know - I absolutely hated it) and believe me, there was just as much dissent toward their players from the fans as we are giving to players, especially Drogba. They are far from perfect, nothing I have seen so far from them indicates they are any better than us.

I have no words, Im sitting and crying all day long. WTF is that linesman looking at? Drogba was clearly offside. WTF is Wenger trying to do with Senderos? WTF is Lehmann doing on the goal, he was today absolutely s***t. Is there anyone who can answer these questions?

Drogba was onside.. Lehmann was very good today but i really thought he hould have turned that Drogba dribbler around the post.. he was a bit slow getting down.
Senderos looked great until Drogba came on and outmuscled him..
Other than that our defense looked ok today... it was our frontline that was really terrible.

We were poor today, as we were against Newcastle and there is no getting away from that fact.

Sure we played better football than Chelsea, but so what?

We just did not look like scoring all game. That to me is very worrying.

Today highlighted how lacking our squad is, we simply have to improve or it is going to be a long season.

Henry was terrible I thought today, and the guy needs to sort his attitude out. You cant have a moody, arrogant french poser as your captain. Im sure he will score five on Wednesday, but it is in these games he needs to perform. Not good enough.

Senderos was a liability aswell.

And where was Reyes? Having Van Persie and Dennis on the bench made no sense at all. And what was the point of bringing on Flamini? He was never going to impact on the game when he came on. Reyes should have been on the bench in place of Dennis to come on when we needed a goal.

But for all that moaning, Chelsea werent much better than us and won due to what looked a very lucky goal and I hear was offside, but saying that Senderos shouldnt have let him in behind.

Plus points to be taken from today were the perfromances of Jens, Kolo and Hleb, all looked quality. Also the Bridge is now worse than Highbury, hard to believe I know. Outsung by us gooners. But we simply HAVE improve our squad. We are crying out for a goalscorer, and Cesc looks knackered already. Only another 50 games for the lad to play in :roll:
Not replacing Vieira is madness, and we will pay for it.
