If we can transition 1-2 kids into first team squad players every 2-3 years we've done exceptionally well.

Patino would be way down the pecking order at CM next season. It probably is better for him to make a full time move away and really try to cement himself as a starter at a Championship side for a while. I respect it.

We can always put in a buyback or first refusal or whatever.

Actually a little disappointed he's going now, don't really have another profile like him both in the first XI or the academy right now. Very much 1 of 1 as a player. Buyback is very smart, and I think he does need this move in order to play regularly without being at the mercy of a loan.

The thing about Loan players is that if they aren't an absolute raving success, they usually aren't priority players, which is why Patino probably wants to avoid that and go be a proper contender somewhere. Maybe at a team that plays a bit more football on the ground.

Honestly a bit sad to see him go, but that has probably more to with me following him closely last season. He has a future career in football no doubt, probably not here though sadly.

I think he could have had a future here but given the standard we're looking to achieve, he'd need to be a player who either peaks early or is a generational player. They'd need to be Saka level off the bat, and not even Saka that debuted vs Qarabag, Saka that had already played 50 odd games for us. Can think of quite a few we have now in that bracket but none of them have Patino's profile.

Wonder if we manage to get a fee like City gets for their unknown youth players

There still no info about how much we asking can we do like man city and get 15M?

Buyback clause is necessary in case he turns real deal

Letting Patino go and keeping guys the level Elneny and Partey is sickening.
What ? Your actually comparing Patino to Partey?

They are not even in the same stratosphere as players currently. I hope Charlie has a good career and improves his game to the point Arsenal look to bring him back. Currently at this stage he needs to play games and he won’t get that at Arsenal.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
