It will be a tough game against WBA and not easy at all. I hope Arteta is smart enough to start with a strong team and don’t underestimate WBA. Confidence is everything in football and sports. Looking at the results so far WBA will have a lot more confidence.

Preseason games and first competition games:

WBA
Played: 9
Won: 6
Draw: 2
Lost: 1
Last 5 games: WDWWW

Arsenal
Played: 6
Won: 0
Draw: 1
Lost: 5
Last 5 games: DLLLL

I wonder if he has a roulette machine called "right back roulette", with the names Cedric, Chambers, Sokratis crossed out, Bellerin, AMN, subsitution: Nuno Tavares and Saka at RWB mid game as options.

**** knows who is starting there tomorrow.

Norwich warming up nicely for our game after the international break

Can honestly see a loss here, loss at the weekend, then Norwich getting a point against us.

That's Arteta out then. A loss at the weekend is a given, but he desperately needs to win the other two.

We will inevitably lose a player or two for testing positive for covid. And that will be our excuse.

We've had some seriously bad moments in this competition. Few worse than the 2-6 home defeat vs Man United in 1990. Lee Sharpe's only good game in his career....

The last minute defeat to Wigan in the semis in 2006 was really bad.

Best one has to be Batista getting 4 at Liverpool, mental game

Championship sides getting a battering in the EFL Cup. Norwich put 6 past Bournmouth, Wolves 4 against Forest. Shows the gulf.

Wonder how many West Brom will score against us?
